As per the Social Security Administration, a worker retiring in January 2011 could receive these maximum benefits:

Age 62 - $1803

Age 66 - $2,366

Age 70 - $3,193

As per the Center for Retirement Research in 2009, a wife who survives her husband (i.e. remains alive after his death) could receive up to 60% more if he had started his benefits at age 70.
